Hello everyone! It's been a very long time since I've been on the forums. I'm Thinking of moving on from my 05 LS430 ML, to a newer 460awd. I came across this CPO 460. Price is nothing special. They seemed to have come down on the price in the last two months. It's been at this dealer for a while now. Might go there to discuss numbers. I bought my last LS from them. What would you think is a good price for this car? It seems to be listed right at blue book

Thanks for your help. I'm looking forward to freshening up my LS lifestyle. Lol.

Nice LS and $39,000 is a fair price. Its been at the dealer for a while and new models are come in. You should be able to get a good deal.

Yep, looks like a good car, as long as you're OK with black on black. I agree that high $30s is about right. Offer them $37500 and see what happens.

If you've never owned a black (Obsidian) Lexus before, be prepared for an enormous amount of upkeep on that paint. The paint is quite "soft" and shows imperfections readily, (like swirl marks etc). I detail mine twice a year and that still doesn't cut it (pun intended). Cut polishing, two bucket washing etc, still doesn't help.

#roadfrog I agree on the obsidian paint - any non-touchless car wash makes it look like someone scuffed it with sandpaper. I have 3M product that works awesome to remove swirl marks, but haven't found a free 2 hours to wheel it out.

Thanks for the responses! I currently have an obsidian LS. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL! Detailing it is a nightmare! But when it's fresh for that first 24 hours- It's a dream!

Wait......what? 24 hours ???!!!! I don't get anywhere near that!

But yeah.....it does look ridiculous when it's fresh.

Black is my favorite color but sadly it is known to be one of the softer paints. White on the other hand is one of the hardest because it has titanium dioxide in it's formulation.
White is also harder to correct paint imperfections if you have any but once it's done it holds up better and doesn't need to be polished as often.

Silver, white or grey would have been my preference, but the deal was too good to pass on the Obsidian.

I would love a pearl on black LS. If this car was black on brown I would be all over it too. Black on black is sexy- but also has that car-service look. I've had a couple of people try to get into my car at stop lights thinking I was a car service....But the car itself looks like it is in great condition and may be too good of a specimen to pass on. I want a minty fresh one. Just like my 05 was/ is.

Hey man how's it going? Wonder how many more of the good ol 430 group we'll see around here? . I made the switch several months ago in May and all I can say is I absolutely love the 460! It still has the basic character, feel and quality of the 430, but everything is a bit better and that adds up to a huge difference. The 460 definitely feels more modern (as it should), and I honestly think even quieter.

I would suggest that you be patient and look for one that just jumps out at you. I found mine at an Audi dealership in WI with only 17k mi on it, picked it up for a hair over $40k and that was 4 mo ago. It was in the color I wanted with the options I wanted. No CPO, but it was a very late build '12 and still on factory warranty.

Best of luck with your search!

Default Hey carguy89!

Yep- it's inevitable. I think a lot of us will be migrating over at some point. I feels good to be back. It's been so long!! Recently got my wife an RX 350, because I because I became a father. She loves her "Rex". I need something non rear wheel drive, so I think that only the 460 AWD will make me happy. I'm so spoiled by my 430 that everything else sucks by comparison. I just don't want to get caught without changing cars before winter. But I still do have time before the snow hits, so maybe I should be more patient.

Congrats on becoming a father man! That's awesome! .

I hear ya on the 430. I looked at the Germans and walked away hugely impressed with all the tech in some like the BMW 750/Merc S class, but reliability concerns once again prevented me from getting one. The LS460, while not quite as tech'ed up, still has everything you could want with the dependability we have come to expect after owning the 430. I'm assuming you've probably driven the 460, but if not take one out for a spin I think you will like it.
