Are these proper jacking area on the rear of the ls ?
See the rubber part on the picture picture, it's actually very solid and I saw someone use them for lifting the car in a garage. Located on the rear just before the wheel.
I don't believe that is the proper place, doesn't that rubber piece go into a flimsy piece of sheet metal? I can't remember. The proper place is the pinch weld that you can see in your picture. I'm not saying you can't Jack it up from that piece of rubber, it's just that technically I don't believe that's the spot.
There's more available spots in the front...pinch welds, and if you go in a little further there is a very nice piece of frame you can grab. I find these vehicles tough to lift because they are so wide and don't like to fit on the lift evenly, plus the pinch welds are so close to the ground effect moldings that you can easily damage them...that and the fact that the pinch welds love to bend, then rust. I've also been able to grab a piece of the rear suspension where it meets the frame in the back, but that takes a little work. Not an easy vehicle to lift. I actually bought Ramos to do oil changes on it because I don't like liftin it.

I personally have used the hack point that's located in the front, but have never used the noted Jack point in the rear.
It just doesn't sit right with me placing the rear weight of thhis vehicle on the diff region.
When I did my bread brakes, I used the hack that came with the car and placed it on the pinch weld area with the rounded cut out , and using my 3 ton hydraulic jack as a back up.
