Considering the vehicle has neither the Executive Class II Seating package nor APCS (advanced pre-collision system), I think it's priced a bit high. IME, based on when I was searching for a LS460, Carmax vehicles tend to be over-priced.

I've seldom seen a "no-haggle" price that isn't worth haggling about.

Low mileage but at that price it should be loaded with all available options.

Considering it is a 600 and not a 460, it is pretty much a brand new 2011 LS600. If you could get them down into the $40's somewhere it would be a very good deal.

If this is a clean car, I think it is a great deal!

You couldn't get any LS600 with less than 45K miles with less than $42K (2008). So, 3 years newer and 25K miles less for $10K is not bad at all.

Don't have good experience with CarMax when it comes to spotless cars, so do your own homework.

This car is priced pretty well. If this was a CPO it would be $55K given the mileage and age.

It's a 4yr 8 month old car since initial registration. That means you won't be able to get a Platinum warranty for this from lexus as the original new car warranty has expired. Given that, $51K to me seems like a fair deal. I don't think Carmax move on their posted vehicle price at all, but this won't last long anyway given those miles.

Given the asking price, would a person choose this over facelifted 2013 LS460?

The car is less than half price for 20k miles. I would say a good deal if this is the car you want. However, $52k gets you a lot if you go the 460 route. There are not many 600's out there to find, so maybe you are getting lucky here. I do wonder why this is not at a lexus dealership, is a question worth looking into.

It all depends on the features you personally want in a car. Typically a 600 comes with radar cruise, reclining heated\cooled rear seats, the reference Levinson audio setup, full leather package on the doors and dash and it's of course AWD.

LS460 models with radar cruise and AWD used to be very hard to come by. If you wanted something like an L model with the full leather and rear seat package (minus leather dash), Levinson, radar cruise and AWD then it was almost impossible to find. If you could find a used car, it typically cost the same as a used 600 of the same model year.

Its a good price for 600 with that many low miles. Especially its hard to find 2011 or 2012 600s. If there is one, most often its with +60k miles. If the interior is with lighter color, I would be interested in it.

I don't know about CarMax car quality. One time took a friend to check buy-in price. Asked for the key and returned it in 10 minutes (so much for testing driving and evaluation). If I were to buy, I will account for another $3k for third party warranty.

I did this spring. $38K/40K miles. No massaging seat or driver head nodding option but everything else. Previously owned by a guy who had 2 matching 600s neither of which he drove - he had a driver :-) Nice life if you can get it.

I stumbled on it after getting shafted on a buy of a 460L that was supposed to have all the options - exec seating, ML reference sound, active cruise, etc but when I showed up at the dealer it turned out to be a base 460L with some kind of funky rear seat back DVD player option (3rd party?), ML but none of the rest. The pics they provided of tge interior were purposely selected to not quite show everything. Unapologetic dealer & the misleading ad was still up a week later. I flew across the country to get it and was lucky I didn't get more grief getting my money back without needing to resort to threats.

Almost decided to keep it but I kept thinking that whenever I drove it I would be thinking about what I didn't get not what I did (the base 460L is still a fine car) so I cut my losses and told them to keep it.

Found my 600 while browsing the net (cargurus) and decided to take the plunge - was initially hesitant due to the added complexity, the air suspension and AWD which I thought made it potentially problematic. Crossed my fingers and made the deal anyway. Didn't know at the time how lucky I got because there aren't a ton of these to be had. Just did a 9 day 4,000 mile roadtrip with my family and couldn't be happier.

You are such a lucky fellow!

The $42K for 45K miles number is from Autotrader.

Is the car you have a Neiman Marcus Smoky Granite Mica color by any chance? There was member on CL who had matching 600s and a driver before he sold one for a Jag

Doubtful. The 2008 Launch Edition, i.e. Neiman Marcus, had the Driver Attention Monitor.

Executive seating is really cool, but effectively makes the 600 a gigantic 4-passenger car - which is a tad impractical if you have a family - even if that family is only a beloved dog. We carry our 14-year old Beaglador in the back of our 460, and she likes the space (with a protective blanket for protection from her nails, of course):
