Hey guys my LS needs to having the bushing changed. I've seen the forums with the aftermarket choice and having a shop replace them to save money. I reside in the Los Angeles area but wanted to know if anyone on the forum already had a shop perform this service. Orange county is also fine, anywhere near I can get this done. Thank you in advance.

I've tried couple shops but they told me they wouldnt just do bushing work. They kept suggesting to just change the control arms

Based on the prices of control arms available on Ebay etc, it's not a bad idea. You can replace them for only marginally more than the cost of just the bushings. It's what I'd do.

Roadfrog has a good point. While I understand spending the least amount of money is ideal, if you can't find anyone to do the bushings, then arm replacement makes sense.
If you look for machine shops ask if they can remove and install bushings. It takes a hydraulic press. Another idea is boat propeller shops that recondition outboard props use a press to replace the hub of the prop. They may be able to help you.
It's your time and effort that will determine what's right for you. Good luck.

Changing bushings in the car modding capitol of the world should be very easy with plenty of places that would do it. It is a straight forward and simple procedure. I know that piece of mind goes a long way when it comes to work being performed on our vehicles but if you shop around, ask the right questions, and take some time it should not be that hard. If you do find some arms at a good price that is an even easier job of course. I would only change the bushings out if switching over to the Figs.
