Default 2009, low miles, question (s)

That is a horrible price. Keep looking. Took me at least 6 months to find the one I wanted and I drove 3 hrs to get it.

Personally I would have to have ML audio, adaptive cruise, and I love my reclining rear seats. But make sure to check the Vin on the Lexus site for its service history. These cars can have many different options and the last thing you want is to buy the car and regret not having one. Take your time. It's worth it.

A clean 17k mi '12 for a hair over $40k with ML, cold weather, and comfort pkg can be done...just saying , and that was a few months ago. Be patient, CPO is nice, but as many have said it's not necessarily a must on these cars. '12 is a great year b/c there's no real issues that I have heard of with them. From what I hear mid build '11s and onwards address the control arm issues, the wind noise thing was addressed in the facelift '10s, though not all '07-09s have that issue.

thanks again, I just got a call from the dealer... he will move down to $36K, throw in 2 of the things I wanted, charge for the plastic protective film and $429 conveyance fee. Now you guys have me thinking of a '12 and waiting.....

I also see control arm issued on 2007-2008, I know the 2010 redesign supposedly fixed this but I cannot see any complaints on 2009, we it an issue? Thanks again

I just had the front control arms replaced on my 2010 LS 460. It was covered by Lexus CPO warranty. But, if you don't have a warranty, you can buy the parts on Ebay and have a local shop do it for about $1200. Even less if you DIY.

Still seems high. Did you ever plug the specifics into those websites to see the values?

Also, I wouldn't let the dealer put on the clear bra. If they do it in-house most likely they won't do the best job, and overcharge you to boot (isn't that really the same thing?). And if they farm it out, they're charging you a commission on top of what you would pay directly to the detail shop.

What do you feel is a good price on this? I know the low miles have an effect on price. I would have no issue going to 20-30,000 miles especially for a bit newer LS keeping it around 40 or under.

Use sites such as Cargurus.com, cars.com, and autotrader.com to research asking prices. You can use various filters to narrow the selection criteria.

My guess: Typo, possibly transposing the first two digits.

You shouldn't trust ANY used car for being in good mechanical shape and with no accident history. Even CPO vehicles have have these issues. I have owned a CPO that had body damage and another that needed control arms. Yes, the repair was covered under warranty but I had to drive 100 miles to the dealer(twice) and drive a dirty, smelly loaner for three days.

At the end of the day, buying a used car is certainly crap shoot. I'm not saying don't buy used, because every Lexus I've owned has been. Just keep in mind that it's near impossible to know every little thing about the car since it's very easy to hide discrepancies.

I still say with your budget, look for an 11 or 12 with ML system. Have the car looked over by a reputable tech or pay Lexus the $125 or so to have it done. Even then, there are no guarantees. But keep in mind, you are getting what started out as an $80K car for less than half price. Even a car with some moderate damage, if repaired properly will be a dream car.

Take your time, do you homework and you'll love your car.

I am walking from this deal for a silly reason, it is a gold edition, I did not understand and thought they all had what I consider the ugly gold on them, but no, and I cannot see myself driving that. And yes, I will slow down and look for an '11 or '12, maybe I can get lucky and find a low mileage one in my budget. I was going to have this looked at by another Lexus dealer, that is a no brainer. Thanks
