Go LS. I have an '08 and pondered trading into a '13 GS for the sake of AWD (not ready to move into a 13+ AWD LS), and I didn't even have to go for a test drive before realizing that I would never make that move.
I realize that it's a mid-level Lexus, but it felt small and cheap compared to an LS that was five years older.

I traded out of a 2013 GS350 Luxury model to a 2015 LS. I would drive them both back to back and take your preconceptions out of it before you decide.
While I prefer the LS, it just suits me better, I can absolutely understand why someone would prefer the GS. The 4GS is a GREAT car with a great chassis, its very stiff and solid, handles well while still riding very well. The GS is a lot more fun to drive, feels smaller than it is, while the LS feels huge, you put it into a corner its a total pig. The interior of the GS is really very close to the LS, in fact I think the leather in my GS was nicer than whats in the LS, my GS had the semi-aniline leather while my LS has just the basic leather, but a friend of mine has a 2015 GS with the standard leather and even that I think is better. Obviously the LS is built to a higher standard since it costs so much more.
If you were comparing 13 GS to 13 LS I would say its a no brainer, but 13 GS to 10 LS? The GS will be much more modern...I might get the GS, especially a luxury package GS.
