Default 45,000 Mile Service

Had my 45,000 mile service done at Lexus of Omaha last Saturday complete with rear diff fluid flush and refill. My front brakes were 7 mm 4 to sensor and my rear were 6 mm and 4 to sensor. I decided not to turn my rotors and replace my brake pads with the new Akebono brake pads and hardware kits that I had in the trunk for at least another 5 to 10,000 miles. They gave me a price of $198.50 per tire for 245/45R19 Michelin Energy MXV4 S8 98V's and a additional $201 for a 4 wheel alignment, mounting/balancing with Nitrogen(not that big of a deal) on the Nitrogen fill. The price on the tire is really good. I went across the street to shop at Costco and check with them on the price of the same tire and it was $298.00 per tire. So it was a $100 per tire cheaper at Lexus of Omaha. They had said they only charge $10 over cost for tires. Thoughts on the Michelin Energy MXV4 S8 98V Tires.

As a side note I told one of the Asst Managers that when I had my fuel sensor recall done in March that they were 1 of only 2 Lexus dealerships that were mentioned on the CL forum that had not topped off fuel tanks. He said that is not right and they should have on all recalls. I had driven 528 miles on this tank and said that would great. They filled her to the top. Way to go Lexus Of Omaha.

Thoughts on those tires please.

Looks like an old tire that isn't very favored. I wouldn't buy them

Default What's the LS Forum Folks Thoughts

Thanks NickTee

I read the reviews on Tire Rack. I would like to hear from some of the folks here on the LS forum who have had them on their LS's and what they think or thought of them. I agree some of the reviews were not good.

Costco prices are only $15/tire for install pkg. and disposal fee. So, redo the math. I'd search the threads here for tire recommendations. I've only had mine a few months so can't recommend any other than the tires I currently have. Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus, quiet and smooth ride. OEM I believe. If they give me decent life, I would buy them again. Think about this, your tires are a huge component of how your car rides and sounds, you're doing the right thing by asking opinions. For future basic repairs/maintenance (like brakes) try a Toyota dealer, just as reliable, same parts and less money.

I would guess that the better part of that $201 price is for the 4 wheel alignment although I do not have a break out.

Good price offer from Lexus on the tires and I would buy them. I have the Michelins Pilot mxm4 and they have been excellent. Smooth and quiet. I'm sure the Energy should be just as good.

Primacy> pilot > energy> lead> serenity plus (my current tires. They're pretty bad.)

Each their own but the Primacy and Pilot are the best set of tires I have purchased for my 460.
