hey roadfrog, how long do you reckon it would take to replace 8 control arms, along with the bushings and balljoints. I have a 2008 LS 460L

Roadfrog has been away from this forum for a long time now. We all miss his input. He just don't love us NOMO...

What kind of shop did the bushing work and did they remove the control arms or someone else?

The best bet is to source all of the new control arms from EBay with the bushings which can be had for a song. Then have your independent replace all of them.
Yes indeed! I looked at just the bushings and for $20 more I got the control arm with the bushing and ball joint and didn’t have to deal with pressing them out . The replacement of arm isn’t that bad either. If you have basic skills, you can do both sides in 6 hours .

Default 2012 ls460 changed my control arms used 2013 redesigned lower arms

When replacing control arms I found both of my ball joints to be bad. Make sure you replace these if needed. I have replaced mine and I'm glad I did it at the same time. (Rwd by the way). Next is sway bar bushings front and back. I too used rock auto mevotch lifetime parts. I have 2012 model but used the 2013 redesigned lower control arm. Perfect fit.

I changed the bushes only but they only lasted 4 months. I changed again and the car didn't feel any different. I then found out that changing the bushes on the control arms makes no difference, as changing the control arms is the only solution when bushes wear out.

Today a tech told me the bushings in my awd ls460's front radius arm needs to be replaced. I am a bit confused with the verbiage. Is the radius arm the same as the front upper control arm that Lexus lists here?

https://parts.lexusorangecounty.com/...leExtensionID=

Many thanks all.

I'm confused too. I even googled it. Ask the tech what he meant to know for certain.

He even showed me a picture of it, but I could not remember its long part number. He said these arn't like the other control arms that move laterally/side to side, that it is responsible for the radius/turning...
