Exclamation Changed wheel hub without disconnecting the battery - now ABS, AFS and VSC lights

Hi all

I foolishly changed out my driver side wheel hub (bearing was grinding) without disconnecting the battery and now have the ABS, AFS and VSC lights on. Disconnecting the battery overnight did not help.

Going on the premise that the sensor on the new hub is good, does this need the dealer or someone with Techstream to reset?

Cheers

Did you disconnect any brake lines?

?? If you removed the caliper, then you would have had to disconnect the brake line from it. Or do you mean you moved it aside without actually removing it?

Do you have the ability to swap out the abs sensor from the old hub and place it in the new one?

Case closed - Just figured it out. I bought a Techstream kit for $25 bucks and cleared the codes. The ABS/VSC/AFS lights came back on and I read them again.

The hub that I changed out was registered as going in the reverse direction as the other wheels....checked my recript and I bought the hub for the passenger side

Today I am wheel bearing. Disconnect the wires ABS.I put the brake disc, brake caliper. brake caliper from the brake lines do not disconnect.
Replace the bearing. restored everything in reverse order.
I do not disconnect the battery. everything is working fine.

If you have flashed an error, then it damages the wires.

With the tech stream you were able to convince the car it was the driver side hub ?

Yes, as the car knows the location of the sensor plugs. I changed the hub out and all is well.
