The permanent fix is to have them sanded and clear coated. Mine were done when I had paint work done on the car.

As for the bodyshop that said "sure we'll try it" look for another bodyshop... that shows a lack of confidence in their work... if there's a custom shop near you.. find out who does their paint work an use them instead!!.... its actually an easy progess (with the lights off the car) da sand to a point where the yellowing is gone an spray clear... (i did 2 coats this last time) so they could wet sand an buff them to a high luster finish.....
