Would this scare you away from purchasing this car?

Also, do you have an Autocheck and/or Carfax report for the car? if you really want the car, you might consider having it evaluated by an independent Lexus mechanic who might be able to give you an estimate of needed repairs. That, and as a previuos poster mentioned, the options/packages the car has will give you a better sense of whether this is a good deal.

Unfortunately, even Carfax is only as good as the reports entered into their system. When I bought my car, I did a thorough search through Lexus and Carfax. It all came back clean. But now I'm seeing there was some damage on the passenger side back panel. Not enough to be an issue, but it's apparent that anything can fall through the cracks.
Perhaps a good mechanic ciould have detected the minor damage you described.

Just drove a 2015 ES300h. Nice car, but I might get bored after a while.
Ironically, and this is the truth - my boss just PM'd me and he's giving me a promotion I've been after for months now. Might have to step back into a newer LS. There's a reason it's the flagship...

My 2010 SWB AWD had close to $20k in warranty repairs on the suspension (struts/shocks( you name it, which is one reason i unloaded it. That year seems to have real issues for whatever reason as in consumer reports it was the only black circle i saw on any year any category.

Does anyone know if the problems reported in 2009-2010 had mostly to do with cars equipped with the air suspension? Furthermore, what changes occurred in 2011 to change the reliability of the suspension from much worse than average to better than average? Thanks!

From the TSB's that Lexus released, they revised the control arms 2011 onwards (someone correct me if I'm wrong). 07-10 models had the control arm problems that led to costly ($3-$5k) repairs but isn't prevalent in all cars...

From the same data source, here are the search results for 2010 LS460 TSB's:
http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Tsb/...75&Model=5862&
2010 LS600h TSB's:
http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Tsb/...=75&Model=6589
You can change the YEAR value in the above URL's to see TSB's for other LS460 or LS609h model years. You can also do a TSB search here for a specific year, make, and model, but it seems you must enter a particular car system to search within (at least for the 2010 LS460, but not the 2010 LS600h):

The above information might prove useful to those experiencing problems with their cars.
