This SUV slammed into us in 2007. If there was a passenger I think they would have been in critically condition or dead. SUVs will not save you from being T-boned.

I just wanted to follow up with everyone as I finally get my car back from the body shop tomorrow. After driving a Chevy Tahoe rental for the past month, I can honestly say I can't wait to get my car back! Although the Tahoe has come a long way, it is still a pain to park and it is just not near as comfortable as the LS. My fear of being T- Boned again has disapated as I realize that this was the first time that it happened to me in 49 years. Now I just hope the car is as good as it was before it got hit.

I think you were having a very rational response to a traumatic experience. An accident is entirely that, an accident. An unpredictable and unfortunate event and really depending on the circumstances of the accident, having a larger car may or may not matter at all.

I think in the end of the day, i think the important thing is you unfortunately had an accident but the LS did it's job and you're safe.

And take solace is knowing that the LS is Lexus's Flagship Model. Its going to be the most well constructed and most thought out car in their lineup, so if there is any model car out there that would be a cocoon of safety features, it would be a Lexus LS.

I almost flipped the family SUV last winter...hit a little snow on the edge of the street...rear end started to kick out...I tried to correct it. Before you know it the whole car went spinning into the other lane - I've never lost control of a vehicle like that before - and I highly doubt that would have happened in anything but our SUV. They're not as safe as you think, personally I'm very careful when I drive them, because if you aren't?? Things can get ugly real quick.

Ohhh...Starfire Pearl/Alabaster....shame on you! LOL!
That LX was practically brand new!!
But anyways, im sure you'll agree, that once you place your nose to the grind and get serious about finding an LX, im positive the deals are out there. Im not sure how long you looked or if you remember, but I was on the verge of settling for an 07 with 90k+ miles with visible blemishes! Amidst my car search, if I learned nothing else, I did learn that patience is KEY!!!
