I hear I will need winter tires though, is that true and what options for a 19 in wheel work best in a winer tire?
Nokian Hakkapeliitta make the best winter tire known to man. They are somewhat pricey however.

Personally, I think that ANY ice and snow winter tire will be fine. Just make sure the tire you get is engineered towards performance sedans like my GT Radial Champiro HP are.

I didn't buy this car for its looks although they are ok other than the rear which is pretty plain and boring. I bought it for its reliability, comfort and longevity. I am surprised to see sales of the new LS are down from prior years......I could have sworn some politician said the economy was great, but that's another thread for a different forum. Lol

Short road trip to family for thanksgiving gave me a chance to experience this great vehicle on 90 road trip at 70 to 75 mph. What a great running, driving car. Coming home with no stops avg 66 mph got 24 mpg too. I drove last half of trip with Eco mode and swear I was seeing 1 - 2 mpg more in that same mode at about the same speed without cruise on. Does that even seem possible? The shifting of the transmission is so quite I don't hear it shift but with out shifting how would I get better mpg?

Still got QX56 2011 model that is one awesome SUV and drives like the new Lexus and has been flawless but love, love, love my new LS460L AWD at the end of day 1, after a 200 mile road trip.
How did the q45 and the m compare to the Lexus in reliability, comfort etc? What years were they?

I had a 1990 LS400' followed by :
'93 Q
Two '94 Qs
''97 Q
'96 Q
'02 Q
'06 M45
And '12 M37
I also had 2 G coupes and 2 QX56, I still have '11 QX 56 Awd
All the Infinitis are incredibly reliable, had most up to 60k miles but one Q up to 115k miles. Never had one of my infiniti products fail to start other than two dead batteries. Four of the infinities were what I call flawless, never any issue including squeaks or ratles. The four flawless were one of my '94 Qs, the '06 M45' , the ''02 Q and my '11 QX.

I think the QX with all the bells and whistles is the best full size SUV around for the money for sure. Infiniti is incredibly reliable, has top notice safety technology with very strong performing engines. The issue for me was the new version of the old M is called a Q70 and comes in a stretch version now. It's not as comfortable or as large as my LS which is why I made the change. Infiniti cars are not as luxurious oe smooth riding as my LS. I had a '10 ES 350 which I didn't care for at all just too soft, under powered and no BSM. I turned my M37 in off lease and traded in the ES for the new LS with BSM. I drove the audi A8L ''14 model and drove the Q70L with a 5.6 liter V8 in AWD but it weighed and cost about the same as I got my LS. I liked the 420hp but it's not in the same league as the LS and definitely for the small money difference. But I do like the Infiniti motors but the transmission is not in the same league as my LS. Also with no change in looks other than a stretch, I was just ready for a different car.

If the LS is as reliable as my infiniti cars I will be elated. The infiniti sedans don't come near the LS on comfort and luxury. I miss the firmness and acceleration some but net net the LS is another class up.
