Default need advice on purchase

I currently have a ls430. Looking to get into a ls600hl. This would be my 5th lexus are as i am in love with the brand!! I see few 600hl that are in my price range however they are well over 100k miles. I wanted to know what are the pros and cons of the 600hl? how long does the hybrid battery last? how much would it cost to replace the batteries should they go bad? Also how is the maintenance cost with this car? Are there any major issues that can go wrong with this are that I should be made aware of? Should I definetly stay away from 100k plus mileage cars? The reason why i choose the 600hl is because I am coming out of a UL430 and I am a bit spoiled. power seats, soft close doors, full leather etc. The 600hl comes with pretty much all the options for the exception of the executive class seating package. Finding a 460 with all options seem to be a pretty rare find.

All opinions welcomed!

Thank you all in advance.

Well when it comes to a LS460L, you can find it pretty much with most of the options a LS600hL comes standard with, I did. I recently purchased a LS460L and prior to that nearly purchased a LS600hL. The only thing that made me hesitate in purchasing the LS600hL was the lack of trunk space. My family and I felt more space in the trunk was a requirement. If it wasn't for that, I would have purchased the 600.

Other than that, the LS600hL comes with AWD, the very sweet shiftless transmission, and inside the DVD and Rear Entertainment System. I personally will not be in the back seat to enjoy the DVD and Entertainment System. You can get a LS460 with AWD and search enough maybe even a DVD Rear Entertainment System, but not with the 600's transmission.

I love my car. That is alot for me to feel that way since I have not been passionate about a vehicle in a very long time. For the car I purchased, I flew to buy it and drove it back because the deal was right for me and it was worth it for that car.

I guess it comes down to what is right for you, what you want vs what you need vs what is a must.

I don't have a 600hL so I can't answer questions about the battery, but I haven't read anything here from owners who have had problems with it. I also don't think the maintenance would be any more than a 460.

I wouldn't shy away from a plus 100K car as long as it was in very good condition and you have all the service records.

The only other thing I would add is I think you could get a 460 with most of the options offered in the 600. That being said, if/when I replace my 460, I would definitely try for a 600.

I have found out though that if you can afford to, purchase a 2010 or newer juat cause it has the next generation Navigation system, aome cosmetic changrs like mirrors with turn signals, an upgraded dash.

I bought a 2011 LS460 AWD (CPO car), and then traded a month later for a 2008 LS600hL, so I've had experience with both models. I did appreciate the larger trunk on the 460 and the more advanced electronics (streaming Blue-Tooth), but found myself completely smitten by the "Top Dog" amenities on the 600hL. It's true you may be able to find most of the options on a 460L, but I feel like the overall silence/amazing torque of the hybrid engine, the additional presence the extra 800 lbs adds to the 600hL, and the few options only found on the 600hL (leather dash, continuously variable transmission, etc.) made the upgrade worthwhile to me. I gave up 3 models years and 30K miles to get the 600hL for virtually the same price, and I haven't regretted it.

Not sure if this my experience would help, but it may be useful to glance at a few of my recent threads as I was originally looking for a 600hL and ended up with a 460L.
