Driver side windshield wiper blade resting position

Driver side windshield wiper blade resting position
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a '09 LS460 SWB. I noticed the driver side windshield wiper arm sitting up high enough to be in my field of vision.
I'm aware that there is a "winter mode" that allows you to raise the arm up a few inches, but from everything I've read....usually the driver and passenger side arm raise together.
In my case, my passenger side arm sits nice and low near the hood, while the dirver is sitting an inch or two higher.
I tried pushing the driver arm down (with success), but after cycling the windshield wipers once, the driver side arm goes back to the higher position.
Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

I don't recall seeing anything in the manual about winter/summer mode on the wiper positions. I tried to pull on the arms like how you do with the 2GS but it doesn't work. Either that or I didn't try hard enough, but I really think they didn't design the wipers on the '07+ LS this way.

I just had my windshield replaced and I have the same problem - the wipers appear to be a few inches higher on the windshield than before. How do I move them back down to where they should be?

Definitely looks like the car has had the windshield replaced. Thanks for the advice sktn, I was hoping that it would be a non tool fix...but I'll see if I can get to it within the next few days.
Waynedog, I haven't had a chance to look at my car but the windshield wiper arm should have a bolt at the end of it. If you unbolt the arm, it should have splines. You just readjust the arm lower and bolt it back down. Again, haven't looked at the car yet, but will report back in a few days.
Thanks again for the help everyone

Have the same problem...but on the pasenger side ...I think my wipers was stuck because of ice one winter...I have tried to get it fixed by removing the nut, but the arm is stuck ...think I need to get hold of a small puller to get the arm off...
I know I have the de-icer for the wipers now ..but was not used that sort of fancy things ...

Mine was out of position when I bought the car. My guess is someone tried to yank it into "winter mode" but found out the hard way that it doesn't exist on the LS. What I did though (thinking I just needed to move it into "summer mode"), was just forced it back without loosening the bolt. Luckily I didn't break anything.

Just finished up adjusting my driver side wiper.
I popped the hood, and there was a 14mm nut (or 12mm I forget now) along with a 10mm bolt slightly next to it.
I removed both the nut and the bolt and repositioned the wiper arm. Tightened everything back down and cycled the wiper blades with no issues.
Btw, there were no splines on the wiper arm.
Thanks for the help everyone.

Hi. i have the same problem. but i think its because of the improper fittment of the windshield as the guy i bought my car from got it changed. Not from dealer. It is hard to see the vin no. too. and there is gap at the top between the windshield and the body. i mean more gap than normal.
