We are picking up our lexus 460L

Before I bought my LS I was interested in an Infiniti M45. The negotiated cash price was $48,000, but if I financed it through them it was $47,000. There was no pre-payment penalty and the salesman told me just to make one or two payments and then pay it off. Evidently whoever they were financing through paid them their commission regardless.

I think the deal is that they want (and need) you to make a few (3 for LFS) payments to cement the incentive for the dealer. Otherwise the finance company will clawback the dealer incentive (but they CANNOT clawback any incentives YOU received since non-conditional prepayment was allowed). But why should you have to pay ANY of their ridiculously high interest which is a big chunk of the first payments due to amortization? Just pay the whole loan off or refi it immediately on better terms for you. If the dealer doesn't like it, he can always tell LFS to lower their rates to something reasonable in order to compete with your local credit union or PenFed. I always make it a point to let FI know what lower rates are available to me and make him WORK to get me to finance through LFS!
