The TMG 650 was supposed to be a development platform to determine what it would take for a high performance LS. There is thought that the next LS F-Sport will be a substantial step up in performance. If we really believe that the next LS is coming out in 2015 the absence of prototype spy photos suggests that they already have done the R&D. If that's the 650, it would suggest that the fundamental chassis has not changed much and instead there may only be minor chassis modifications. This does not bode well for a major visual redesign. If there is a major redesign, either Lexus is really good at keeping secrets OR it's another 3-4 years before we see the next gen LS.

Every generation of the LS had been associated with a new engine. I suspect they will do the same. The RC-F engine does both Otto and Atkinson cycle and I would speculate that the new LS will do the same. It's unclear if they'll go 5L or stick with 4.6 for improved fuel economy. But that counts as a new engine...

I would expect surround view cameras and LED headlights...

I spoke with my longtime salesman at my dealership this past week and he said the LS would be a major makeover for 2016 and, as in the past, it would probably be an early release.

Can't speak for Lexus salesmen in the US but in the past, I have generally known far more about the status of new BMW models that their local dealership sales staff. If Hans Lehmann hasn't photographed it, figure at least 3 years!
