Default Executive version, yay or nay?

Well I'm back. After almost 8 years of the 04 LS430 I picked up a 2010 IS F. Fun for a few days, but the ride is far too harsh, not enough room, the wife hates it, kids complain about legroom. So I'm back looking at LS460's.

In the 33k price range there's an executive silver/black with 44k miles, or a PCS non-exec (but does have adaptive cruise) red/cashmere car with 53k miles. I'm torn between the two.

While the rear entertainment would be awesome, my wife thinks all the kids (age 5 and 8) will do is mash the buttons in the back all the time.

Anyone bought the executive version and now regret it? Those with kids, of course.

i have the 600 exec. package and i have not had one regret its actually a plus, my kids are 4 and 8. When i first got it after about two days of riding in it they learned quick not to push daddy buttons(lol) i had to have a father and sons talk with them both and they understood. And now they get in a ride like adults they only push the buttons to operate the tv,ac , head phones and reclining seats so no issues. Its perfect for long trips, I suggest it to any family of four.

Default Loving it!

I'm the biggest "Kid" in the family and I love it! Had the wife drive me around while I sat in the back seat and really got a feel for the rear ent unit! It will spoil you and you wouldn't want anything less! Go for it and lay down the law with the kids prior!! No regrets and I think you will get major cool points!

I don't have rear ent but I have everything else including radar cruise (must have IMO) , you can lock the buttons, turn off the rear controls display or do both to prevent the kids from messing with the buttons.

Well I'm back - traded in the IS F tonight and picked up an 07 LS460 w/Exec package. What a vehicle - today's my son's birthday and I woke him up (very late) just to show him the back seats.

What a car. I couldn't sign the paperwork fast enough to get rid of the IS F. I'm too old for such bouncy-ness.

Weird having an 07 with only 44k miles. It's pristine mint...for now. Silver ext with light interior.

I cannot believe two things so far.

1) It shows you the tire pressure...of the SPARE!
2) The car is LONGER that my wife's 2011 Sienna AWD. A big van with 3rd row seats. 4 inches in fact.

Ok 3 things. The highway gas mileage is impressive for such a large boat.

Was the self-parking thing included on all exec equipped models? Mine has it, but takes a bit to get the hang of it. I rarely parallel park anyway..

Greg - the original owner is 87 years old. Traded it in on a brand new 127k Mercedes. They looked up the sticker price and it was $99,400. More than 3x what I paid.

This car is an engineering triumph; all the little details like the spare tire pressure monitor and the cup holders with the little inserts so your 20oz soda doesn't rattle around is/are amazing.

I have a 460 with all the back seat options ... you can disable some of them from the dash which might help but you'll never regret having all the bells and whistles better resale too !

I love this car. Of course, just as I feared - the kids are arguing/fighting over who gets to sit in the rear passenger / massage side. Sigh.
