Default New to Lexus and the forum

hello,
I recently purchased a 2011 LS 460L and love it. I am looking forward to using the forum to understand the car better and it has already helped by allowing me to tell my local dealer how to program a key off Ebay. It's a long story about how they didn't want to do it but thanks to the forum I was able to prove it could be done. I may have a bad dealer writeup if they don't respond to my criticism on their dealer website.
Take care Rob

Welcome to the LS family!

My brother programmed my key (credit card key), and I may be able to have him jump on and provide some pointers!

How much does a smart card key cost? OP did you get a regular fob or the smart card one?

Edit* just looked on Ebay, and they are around 250. Any place to get them cheaper?

I got ripped off from eBay at $275, but it was also the "hybrid" key with the blue badge.

right now sewell is having an insane sale on them for only $205 with club lexus discount! http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2007/2689.html

i got the fob only, and that's all i use everyday, no other key is in my pocket
