When you facilitate and attend as many conference calls as I do on the weekly basis this phone call was a breeze!

Oh man, you need to go to Bimmerfest and specifically the E65 forum, where there are more posts there than here about the LOGIC 7 amps (Harmon Kardon). I never had an issue with mine, but there were places to send the amps in for repair, similar to where Tee sent his. In those amps, it was failure of capacitors. When you looked at them on the failing amps, you could see the caps were swelled and leaking/oozing.

Ah, I haven't been on that forum, but I will definitely take your word for it.

Hi,
Last summer my ML amp had the same problem. (by ca. 50 k miles).. I sent it also to United Radio for repair....
It took 16 days from when I shipped from Norway before they got it...the same day Joe from United Radio called me and told me he would repair it the next day.....next day Joe called me again ..and said it was repaired (installed a new board) and wanted to know how he should ship it....got also my credit card details....US$ 760.. incl. shipping to Norway.... arrived at my door 4 days later...installed it in 30 minutes...and have worked like a champ after that..
Joe also told me that this would not happen again..and that it had nothing to do with heat..He had built in a new modified board...and was as friendly as could be..
Very happy with the service at UR :-)

If anyone was curious what it sounds like when the ML amp dies, I uploaded and posted a youtube vid in the first post. I forgot that I recorded it so others would know how annoying it sounds!!!

I am having the same problem with my 2007 LS460L. Dealer price is very expensive. Do you have any suggestion to repair my amp or suggest a place in Houston.

googled and selected these.

http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...on-amp-repair/

http://www.carstereohelp.com/CarStereoRepair.htm

I believe that typically, the amp can be fixed easily - especially from the 2nd unit onwards. Most of them probably have the same common failures. The united guy is probably taking advantage.

If I were to lose my amp, I would try one of the above, to see if they are cheaper.. $350 range would be acceptable..

Looks like some of those you list only repair home amps, not car amps.

Regardless, I'd gladly pay 700 dollars to repair mine. Most here are very happy with the results and are getting repairs that update the amp to current reliability found in newer LS'. That said, if you find out that these other companies do in fact repair mobile amps such as ours, let us know!
