LS460 navigation problem---urgent help needed (unread in 3 days, must not be urgent!)
hello everyone i am new to the forum and having issues with my navigation system. it is an 08 ls460. the navigation screen keeps saying see dealer and the navigation and backup camera will not work since screen keeps giving dealer message. every other thing (radio, ac) all work fine. Could it be an issue with the hard drive/computer? Or could it be a cheaper fix(i pray it is)

Your best bet is to take it to the dealer. I don't ever remember reading here about that particular problem.
Please come back and let us know what the issue was with it.

Sounds like the actual Nav system brain/HD has gone out. I'd go to the dealer to verify first but I would check out some 3rd party nav repair options. I know I saw a guy on eBay offering the service.
Lexus solution would simply give the option to swap the entire unit & that would not be pocket friendly.

Yes, a "remanufactured" (read "used") NAV system is several thousand dollars! I would get the dealer to diagnose the problem (make sure it's the NAV unit), let your jaw drop to the floor when they tell you the repair cost, and then call United Radio in Syracuse NY for a repair estimate. They do flat-rate repairs and I'm guessing it would be around $500-$800 for the nav Unit/HDD.

Had the same issue a few years ago on my 07. Took to dealer under warranty and the unit was replaced. They said the entire thing including the HD was replaced but They managed to keep all of my songs in it. The software was also upgraded to what was available then. All was done under warranty but if memory serves right, it was right around 3k for parts and labor.
