High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement?
Hi guys
Has anyone here done this before? I have a blown bulb on the 3rd brake light that needs replacement. Part no is 8157050070.
Does anyone has the instruction on how to replace this?
Thanks
Diagram looks like there are 2 finishing pieces that are held on by the clips.

Sorry, I can't offer help on this one but I was hoping to never see a post like this. With my roof spoiler and all that, I cringe at the thought that these aren't bulletproof and could need replacement at some point.. But, call me crazy but our rear brake lights are all LED and cannot be replaced as a general consumer trip to AutoZone so could you possibly use the "safety concern" with the dealer to have this replaced? Kind of like seat belt repairs which are never a cost item if they fail to function properly?

Yes..all brake and running lights on the back are LED..only the turn signals and reverse lights are replaceable ans they are filament style...thats why I think he could go to dealer for them to repair because it is a safety issue and not consumer replaceable

maybe few years ago I had an infiniti fx45 and my running lights were screwed up (it was my fault I broke a wire trying to get a 0 gauge wire in through the driverside firewall.) safety and all they repaired it but wasn't free. need to do some troubleshooting, see if you have voltage there and check the fuses might be a grounding issue but if you are handy you check a few things before taking it to the dealer..

Hate to see something as bulletproof as a LED failing, mine must be one luckless LS.
Even the dealer admitted he has not come across a similar case, not to mention the lack of stock for the part. Strangely, it is not an offence driving without a working 3rd brake light in this country.

[QUOTE] [Excellent observation. .that would be dope!! /QUOTE]
It wasn't an observation.....it's an illness I have of wanting symmetry in everything! LOL!! But it was said with some degree of seriousness. It's what I would do. IF it could be done.
