Default Extending CPO Warranty

As you may know, the CPO cars come with 3 years/100,000 mile warranties. I have the option to extend this and wanted to know what are good prices. Here are the options....

5years/100,000
5years/125,000
6years/100,000
6years/125,000

I also would be interested in this.
Even with advance search all I get is warranty problems. Seems you cant do a search for all key words. Or am I missing something?

Prices are variable. Use CPO Wrap as a search term. I did 5/125 and paid around $1,500. Those prices are negotiable, some paid much more than me...it's one of those things where they present the price as if there are not options and people just bite...always fight

Default Extend CPO warranty

Basically it comes down to how many miles are on the car now and how many you will put on it. If you are going to come close to a total mileage of 100,000 miles from date of manufacture, then it would definitely be a waste of money. It is a decision only you can make, because you are the one who has to live with it.

Here are three guys to call. At the time I got mine almost 4 years ago they were all about the same price. I bought mine through Toby, quick and easy.

Toby Rivers
Lexus of Shreveport
1-888-226-6084

Troy Dietrich
Greenfield Toyota
413-772-0231

Jerry Johnson
Midwest Toyota
1-800-530-5789

Hopefully these guys are still at those dealerships or at least the prices are the same.

I'm contemplating extending (wrapping) a CPO Warranty....I was assuming that could only be done at the time of purchase at the dealer you are buying from. Are you saying the 3 names above can offer me a CPO Warranty extension?

Nevermind....I spoke with Jerry directly (very nice and helpful).

I have to work with my dealer on the CPO...and as has been said before...it must be purchased at the time I buy the car.

I'm confused - my CPO came with the Lexus Platinum warranty on top of the 32K I bought it with, and its set to expire in two weeks. A/C Compressor and clutch went out while my wife was driving it and the entire car shut down. Had it towed to Lexus, would have been $1500 in repairs but all was covered...so now I'm looking to extend before the two weeks are up. Can I purchase an extension on my CPO warranty from the guys above or not?

What year is your car?
I've never heard a LS460 with that problem.

Sorry - didn't realize where I posted this, just did a search on CPO extended warranties. It's a 2008 RX350 with 63,300 miles on it. Service Manager said it was rare, but he has seen it a few times...scary part is if she was driving on the highway and the car just died like that, luckily she was able to pull over OK.

CPO Info:

If you are going to extend this, it must be done so at the time of your purchase, and from the dealer you are buying from. I just went through this. You cannot buy the CPO, drive it for one day, and then come back and extend the CPO.

Now there are a ton of other warranties out there, from Lexus dealers and 3rd parties, but the CPO Warranty is its own animal.

Thanks Mitty - given I can't extend what came with the car, does anyone have a recommendation for what is now a "used" Lexus with 63K on it? I'm leery of 3rd party warranties with the Lexus...should I still contact Jerry at Midwest who everyone recommends on here? Has anyone purchased an extended warranty for their used Lexus and been happy with it?
