I think they resemble the GS tailights a lot but anyone who has seen the 2014 LS tailights would agree or maybe should agree those are far better and brighter. 3 L shaped taillights with the white reverse on the bottom to me is just pure sexyness instead of the white on top. But these are pretty good too, still waiting on mine.

Talked to the distributor of these light. They are Chinese made. He said he compared the Japanese version (prototype) with the Chinese one and they're identical...down to the marking. Exact replica like its from the same mold. Go figure.
I'll pick one up anyways just for the looks.

Had a feeling Avest was having the production units made in China or Taiwan and not in house in Japan... since they told me that their next supply had not come in yet (as of last week). Originally they were expecting to get it in mid January and then ship out to fill paid orders. So still waiting for mine also

Do people really think everything in Japan are made in Japan? They try to cut cost just like everyone else. And China/Vietnam etc happen to have one of the cheapest labor. If distributor ABC have lights made in China, then ship it to Japan, then sell it to the USA as made in Japan...will we the consumer know it?
Avest and Spec-D lights are identical. Only difference is the price. Avest is $700 and Spec-D are $500.

You got that right... I think most realize that.
For example, Alpine car audio stuff now manufactured in China, Mexico, Thailand, Brazil... maybe still a few things manu'd in Japan
