Default 2008 LS460L starting problems

Hello I am having problems starting my car. It takes 5 or 6 tries . It will not turn over it will just click under the hood. I scanned the code and it showed the crankshaft sensor code. Would this be correct or could it be the starter or starter components. Thanks for your help it is a 2008 LS 460

I would go with the scanner.

Its probably a false code because the charging system is weak. I would test the battery before anything else.

Clicking generally involves discharged or bad battery or battery cable problems. As said, check these items first.

This may be a long shot, given the crankshaft sensor error code, but there is a known problem with the start switch on the LS that manifests itself in a similar manner. There is a TSIB for it; just do a search. If the car is ultimately starting and does so consistently, I would be hard-pressed to think it's a battery/charging system problem.

Sounds like the batt is done, I would start there first.

I had this problem a few month back. At first I thought my battery was bad. So I took it out and went to autozone to check and the battery was fine. I even bought a new battery just to make sure and it still wouldn't start. I had to tow my car to lexus for them to diagnose the problem and it turn out my starter went bad.

Which of your cars had the problem?

Of course, that makes sense... I didn't pay close enough attention to the OP's reference to clicking; it sure does sound like a solenoid or the starter itself, not the Start switch (even thought that's still very much a known problem).
