I've been charging at 10A for the last couple of hours, only because the next lower setting is 2A. Any concerns? Also, would you be concerned with water/acid level? Like I said earlier, I haven't touched that on any battery since high school.
A 10A charging rate is probably OK. The electrolyte level in the battery needs to be high enough to cover the lead plates. If the plates are exposed you would want to add some distilled or demineralized water. When charging rates are kept relatively low there is little requirement to add water. Keep in mind that Hydrogen gas is generated in the charging process so there is a very real risk of an explosion. You should wear a shield over your eyes when you are working around your battery as an explosion could cause the battery electrolyte, which is sulfuric acid, to splash into your eyes.

I came late to this thread, but I agree with JMC about slow but sure on the recharging. The only thing is you know your battery will never be back to 100% now that you have fully discharged it.
