Did you note that Carfax reported an accident in 2008 with minor front end damage? Otherwise, regular maintenance was performed. You have an advantage since your wife has an 07 LS. Therefore, if you like the overall condition of the car after reviewing Carfax and the car maintenance history on the Lexus.com, I say go for it.

That's a pretty good deal for such a low mileage car. If the body is clean with no salvage, go for it.

Yes, I know about the minor damage in the carfax. Did not find any signs for paint work the first time I looked at the car but when I looked further, I found couple of clips missing under the passenger front fender. I will take to paint shop to evaluate. Also, found signs of non original paint right under the windows on two doors. Could this be due to fixing the wind noise problem???

Personally I would pass on it unless you can get some sort of extended warranty. If not I'd keep looking for a certified pre owned.

It's actually $35k...well, $34,992.
Low miles is not holy grail of used cars.
Personally, I would much prefer to buy one with more miles that has been looked after and accident free.
That is too much for a car that has been wrecked and not properly fixed (if you can tell it has been in an accident then the repairer did not do his job properly).
It does not have all of the options either.

Don't let some minor damage stop you from getting that car. overwhelming majority of used cars have had some paint/body work done. Especially fenders and bumpers. Just make sure there is no significant frame damage or anything like that.

I personally think that car should be in the $28-32K range...but that's me talkin and what I'd be willing to pay. It took me 35 days to get my CPO 600hL via email negotiation..ended up getting them down to trade in value at the time, which was way less than list price and still kept CPO status. Car has been solid since and happy I played the game. Patience is the key...don't sweat the car...be patient! But, these are very popular right now, so I have heard that prices have stabilized and not dropping near as fast.

Since you are here in GA, you should call my broker Joe who owns Import Auto Brokers (www.lex4less.com). He can get LS's all day. I bought my previous LS460 from him and he got me a solid deal back in 2010..literally saved $7k instead of the Lexus dealer who had one with less options and more miles than mine did. Got the extended 0 deductible warranty from my credit union for $1k for piece of mind

Thank you all for the feedback! I decided not to buy the car.

I took it to my bodyshop and was told that the whole side was repainted but without any panel change. Paint job clearly shows and needs further buffing...

The car is in great mechanical condition but the carfax status drops the price mid-high $20K. I expressed interest to the dealer to work a deal in this range but they decided to pass. Seems that they are certain that other buyers will not be as picky as I am

I am glad it is over... I continue to enjoy my other perfect SWB 07 LS460

pretty sure they will call you back at some point...nothing a buff can't fix..most CPO cars had paint work. CPO is a feel good mechanism, but don't think for a second that CPO cars haven't had panels repaired or replaced

Your right, just cuz its a CPO doesnt mean its perfect. Most when reconditioned to be labled as CPO are repaired in some way or even have repainted panels. Mainly the front bumper and hood. I know cuz when i was looking to buy a CPO RX the salesman said they repainted like 4 of the 10 that were there cuz the road chips were bad on the hood and bumper. He said its part of the reconditioning process. Atleast he was upfront about it.
