Default control arms

soooooo another problem, my car wasnt on center and was drifting to the left, i went to get an alignment, it got better but wasnt %100 so i took it back and they said then it has to be something else wrong, they looked at the car and said it was the upper and lower control arms, when the car was on the lift he shook the wheel and told me it shouldnt be moving like that, he told me if i had a warranty on my car to take it to lexus which is why i trust them, they werent trying to sell me anything. my car also has this horrible noise coming from the front when going over bumps that lexus cant seem to find whats causing the noise. does any of this sound accurate to you guys?

Model year of your car? Perhaps add it to your sig so it's always there for reference by those supplying answers.

The control arms sounds right. Common failure on these big heavy cars.

Why aren't you taking your car to a Lexus service center in the first place?

If you have an extended Lexus warranty they will be covered.

I just had mine replaced under Lexus Platinum warranty - dodged a $3K + repair bill.

i didnt know that was the problem, i went and got an alignment from pep boys because they offered a 1 year warranty, they are telling me thats what the issue is since i brought it back, my next step is to go to lexus but let me tell you, getting them to fix stuff has been a hassle

The lower control arm bushings and ball joints cause these problems. The uppers may be okay....

Yup! Getting mine replaced next week under warranty. Also on mine I notice that the driver side has 2 degrees of camber at drive height and the passenger side is dead straight. This is what the alignment shop said the problem was. I went to a shop called The Shop in south san francisco. They have a in ground alignment rack that's why I go there. My other car is slammed so brought the LS here too. So if your warranty is up you can have the bushings serviced and replaced at an independent repair shop. I was searching online and found a couple of distributors that sell the lower control arm bushings. Some were rubber and one was poly. I was going to do this but researched and my warranty covers it.
