Interesting that it's on the inboard side, my 2010 are outboard!! I guess those engineers are keeping busy. It's good that you shared this revelation.

So I was all excited that replacing these filters would increase my cooling power. Well, yes the filter is a bit dirty, but there is no restriction on air flow. I doubt that if these were extemely dirty that there would be any air flow restriction. These filters just keep large material out of the fan, ducts, and seats. They really don't catch or hold much dirt. I highly doubt these will ever be replaced in my car.

The pictures above were taken from the drivers side. Seat up high and as far forward as you can get. Put your head down there and take a look so you know where your going. Then Move the seat as far as you can. I was on my knees outside the car and got it out rather easy

To Unsober1

Looks like you got some rust on the bottom of your seat frame. You must live in the north? Looks like it is also time for you to clean your leather seats.

Checked this out too, finding that the A/C seats were not really pushing much... so wanted to try this. After battling with finding it, then feeling it, I pushed the seat all the way up and all the way forward and you can reach under there and twist it right off....

Thanks for this thread, hope this works !

Cheapest I can find OEM ones (Part # 8892150020) is around $13.50 shipped (ebay $10.50 +$3 shipping).... anyone know of a cheaper place ? I am going to swap passengers (that does not get used much) with the drivers side for now, when I find a good deal on them, I will replace them both.

Edit 2: Well, I am impressed. The drivers side was dark grey (like on the page back), the passengers side was more white then grey. When I got the car, I never was impressed with the cooling of the seat, I was always like, maybe. I never really felt anything coming out of the seat, after changing the filter, I can feel a light cool air flow from the seats... I guess this did work.

I'll wait till I can find both for under $20 (a watched item on ebay now) and I'll grab a set but, this works for now

My observations with several cars with this feature is that its the seat foam crushing with age that restricts airflow.

I can see that, no question. There was barely anything coming out before, as I never used the feature because of that. After changing it, I could feel cool air coming out from it.

I'd have to give it a few days with using it but, over a few min testing it, I do feel something that was not there before.

So, after about 2 weeks with it, I can feel air coming out of it, and even cool air. When I get up on the seat I can feel a little air coming out from where I sit.

I think this will be nice once I install my remote starter, on a really hot day, it should drop the seat temp a little before getting in to it.

I hope that Chaos fellow has consulted his personal proctologist by now.

Will do. I might remove the passenger side one and just wash it.

It's funny with these type filters, I treid that, washing them and they didn't appear to clean up at all.

I might setup my remote start this weekend (waiting for the T-clips to come in), then I'll leave it perm on for the summer.
