Hi, new to this forum.

I recently bought a 2013 LS 460 F-Sport and for the life of me, I cannot get my garage door programmed. I previously had a 2008 IS F and it was easy to set it up. I have a Genie motor with a rolling code, I have followed the instructions but the button simply doesn't register. Can anyone help?

Are you pressing the learn button on the garage unit and then pressing the button int the car? I had the same issue with my LS and ended up calling a garage guy who showed me. Pretty easy.

Biggest problem is people hit the learn button, then run back to the car and press the Homelink button ONCE. Press it over and over again for longer and longer periods until you finally get some action. Mine often take 2 or 3 presses for 2-4 seconds each before it "takes." Good luck.

Also, I recommend programming the button closest to the center (left/center/right) of the mirror. That way, you won't throw the mirror out of alignment when you open/close the garage door. (btw, I HATE the buttons on the mirror! Too fussy and a major pain if you have a blendmount radar detector attached. What was the problem with those nice Lexus buttons in the ceiling panel?)

My car doesn't have the buttons on the mirror, they're on the ceiling with the lexus link. Did they move them on the 2013 models?

yes they are now on the RVM... i can't program my home link button either... i also want to program my home link to turn on the lights in my home as i approach my house.

It is kind of frustrating that they keep moving these buttons around. My 08 IS had the buttons on the RVM and my 08 GX had them on the ceiling. Then we bought a 12 GX and they moved them to the RVM and I bought a 08 LS and they have them on the ceiling. I wish it was just consistent across the model lines since I switch cars with my wife a lot. Not really a big deal but kind of a nuisance.

It took me sometime to figure out how to program mine. I owned a 07 TL-S and all I had to do, was press the learn button on the receiver, go to my car, hold down whichever of the 3 buttons, then press it again, and it would learn the code.

Not for my 08 LS. Its the same way as programming the 8/9/10 pin remote controls (like the Multicodes/Linear DT/Allstar etc). What I had to do was press the learn button on my receiver, go back to my car, use the actual (Genie) remote and program it the same way as I would a Multicode. Hold the remote up to the Homelink, hold the button down on both the remote and the Homelink button, and wait for it to flash rapidly. Then the Homelink is programmed.

From my understanding is that, the Homelink basically copies the frequency the remote uses. So you have to teach both your receiver and your Homelink the frequency of the remote you're using.

If you are unsuccessful ask Lexus to send someone out to your house to either program it and link it to your garage opener, or if they are unable to program it they will confirm that it is defective, which does happen.
