My 2008 LS460 AFS light is flashing and telling me to take to dealer.
Is there any fix for this?

If there is a warning then there is probably a problem with the system. If it just says AFS off then try to make sure that the switch wasn't pressed by accident . I did that the other day.

dude, go to your fuse panel and take out your AFS fuse and that will eliminate that light. I find the damn AFS USELESS anyhow. I dont need them to swivel or anything like that. It is pointless.

What is AFS? Not sure if my 2007 has it?

Oops, the directions are for a different model, but the explanation is the same. On my '07 the AFS button is to the left of the steering wheel, below the mirror adjustment toggle button.

AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) secures excellent visibility at intersections
and on curves by automatically adjusting the direction of the light axis of the headlights according to vehicle speed and the degree of the tire’s angle as controlled by steering input.
AFS operates at speeds of 6 mph (10 km/h) or higher.

This started happening on my car yesterday.

Does anyone have any insight into a fix?

My lights go through the usual adjustment phase when they come on (up, down, etc), then seconds later, I get a flashing AFS light on the dash and a message stating to take it to the dealer.

I suspect a faulty sensor in the front suspension and will check into that first, but wonder if any of you folks have dealt with it.

My brother's GS did this after an accident, and his left bulb wasn't in alignment and kept pointing upward. not noticeable unless you were coming towards him or driving in front of him.

He said that the sensor was installed upside down or something after some suspension work. He also claims that there is something about it in the GS forums...

Thanks. First thing I'll do is check the levelling sensor on the drivers front side. I have the procedure for testing it with an ohmeter. If it's bad, I can get a new one on Ebay for about 200 bucks, or used for 100. Then I'll check the passenger rear side, which is the same price. If it's not either of those, I guess I have to dig deeper.

should be covered under warranty right? and if not, shouldn't your insurance pay for it as a result of your accident?

No warranty and I don't think I can attribute it to the accident. Pretty sure it'll be a fairly straightforward repair to DIY (provided it's a faulty sensor). It's literally just three bolts and a plug.
