they are still doing the old fashion car jacks at red lights.. so keep an eye out...

also had a friend (USMC) stop to help a stranded young lady on the side of the highway (flat tire) when he stopped to help her, her partner jumped from the woods with a knife.. BIG MISTAKE.. Alex promptly knocked him out (she took off running) then he called the police the guy was arrested an he continued on his way..

I think the LS should be equipped with something that when the FOB get within a certain distance from the car, it will kill the ignition. I always ride with the FOB in my pocket so if a car jacking ever happened, 100 yards away, boom, the car shuts off.

Ok electric guys, thats your next task.

Good idea. That does not seem unreasonable or difficult to program.

Did the car have an aftermarket alarm? Because its EASY for someone to get a key cut/programmed to the VIN by let's say a friend at a dealer and if it had an aftermarket alarm well he didnt need a fob. If not i heard there's easy ways to trick the immobilizer so I wouldn't be surprised at all if the car was stolen with the key cut to the car. It's real easy now and days

Can you program a key to a VIN without the car being physically present, especially in the 2004 and newer models which require some special handheld device (Lexus Intelligent Tester? Techstream?) to program?

Doesn't seem as if there grabbing your code. The code grabbing thing is something that was done years ago and I remember buying a Code Alarm for that same reason. This is something totally different. Could possibly be a device that scans all the codes in a matter of seconds until one unlocks the car.

When I bought my car it came with one key Fob. The car was being sold when I first saw it at a Kia dealership here in Vegas but they wanted way too much. Then my auto broker saw the same car being sold at the Manheim auction that weekend and bought it for me. Way too many possibilities for someone to cope the key like ur all saying. Insurance came to the body shop after it was recovered and connected a computer to it to see when it was started last, how it was started, and other computer things (I'm.not very technical). We eventually assumed that they flatbeded it out of our hospital parking lot.
