Default 19" Tires what are you guys running?

I'm about to upgrade my LS460L to some 19" wheels, and I have looked at the options, and I think I'm going with the Bridgestone Potenza RE970s.

Does anyone have any experience with these on a LS460?

I had RE960s on a bunch of Mercedes, and RE970s on my M35, and they were all great, other than not being able to cross rotate.

The Current 18s have Michelin Pilot MXM4s that I am less than impressed with.

I have a friend that replaced his EL42 on his LS460 at 19,000 miles with the Bridgestone Serenity, and they have been great. I tend to be a little more "spirited" when I drive, so I think the RE970 is a good choice. That plus Firestone/Bridgestone is having their "Buy 3 get 1 free" sale, and 100 dollars off 500 spent, gets me a set of them out the door for 750 bucks.

I had the Serenitys on my last LS and they were great. Very quiet and smooth.

I have the Michelin Primacy MXM4. They are in the Grand Touring category and run great. Very quiet, really good wet/dry traction.

One of the guys I talked to at Tirerack recommended the Bridgestone Potenza RE970s to me and that is what I plan on getting as well. I had the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity's on my previous LS and liked them a lot but the RE970s seem to be a better tire based on my discussion.

Just curious, where are you getting the buy 3 get 1 free deal? For $750 I may pick up a set myself.

Pat, call the local Firestone dealer and ask him about the Buy 3 get one free on 1/19/2013 and the 100 dollars off any ticket over 500 dollars.

Taking the car in tomorrow to get the new 19" wheels and RE970s installed. Will post pics.

I called the local Firestone and they don't know anything about a sale on the 970's tomorrow. They have the Serenity's on sale for 25% off but for four in 19's it is still close to $1,300 installed.

Different as in good or bad. I have 18's right now with brand new MXM4s and i hate them. I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus on my IS and love them.

I'm asking because I'm thinking of going to 19's.

Different as in good, day and night difference.

Ride quality has not changed, but its lost the Cadillac Fleetwood float and wallow all over the road. Car feels much more sharp now. I'm sure the MXM4s are great for most LS460 drivers, but not for me. The car has a more "on center" feel now too.
