Default During start up, system takes a while?

Hi all - i purchased a 2007 LS460 after Thanksgiving. Love the car! Question - when I start the engine, it seems to take about 20 seconds for the systems to go through their process. for example, during this time, I am not able to turn on my a/c...the AUTO (ventilation) green light is on. After approx 20 seconds, the AUTO light is off, and the circulation light goes to green and everything is operational (a/c, etc). Is this normal? Is there a trick to be able to turn on the a/c before this 20 seconds elapses? I live in Las Vegas and am concerned about getting the a/c on ASAP in the summer time.

Thanks in advance for thoughts!
