Default How fast can the LS460 travel in reverse?

I got into an interesting discussion with some knowledgeable folks and got curious about the maximum speed the LS460 can go in reverse.

Any idea?

The faster you go in reverse, the harder you are on the transmission.

I just got mine up to 54 mph in reverse.. People on the freeway were freaked out, it started to get sketchy..

J/K Not sure, I'm sure someone would be able to figure it out based on gear ratio and RPM.

Just like the transmission has to shift down when going at really fast speeds, same goes with reverse! Was this a joke question??? drive your car (any btw) and see how fast you can go in reverse. Have fun replacing the tranny.

Yeah, was this a joke? Why would you want to do this? Are you filming a car scene in an action film?

Even more interesting would be to go as fast as possible in reverse but only look out of the rear view camera. That would be a blast. Let me know how that works out for you.

why do you think reverse is a bad / weak gear?

clearly people don't drive around flooring it in reverse, but what difference would it make.

driving all day in 1st gear vs reverse...

I personally don't like going fast in reverse with a load in the car. I prefer Forward, which isn't working well for this country right now. heh. Ok, done W all the jokes.
