Default Bad tires or out of align?

I recently went to Northside Lexus for the two TSB on hesitation. The service lady sent me a print out telling me all the dealer fixes that I need to do. This printout told me that I need new tires. They wanted to sell me some Bridgestones for $1300. I told them no thanks and was off to Discount 'tire.
I went ot the one on 1960 in Houston. The service manager looked up my records and found out that I purchased a new set of Michelin Pilot MXM4s in Jan. 2010. I have 12,000 miles on these tires and they are all at 3/32s. He told me that they did not have any warranty. Then we both agreed that this is not right for MXM4s. Bought a new set of michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus to replace the previous set. He gave me 1/2 off the price of a new set. Is this a good deal or should I called Michelin and told them my story to try to get a new set of tires free?
We could see that all four tires were wearing on the inside. Discount tire guys told me that Lexus sets the alignment on the LS to wear on the inside. They said Lexus does this on all their sports sedans. Anyone every heard this before? Did I have bad tires or did I have a bad alignment?

it's going to be hard to talk to michelin on the tires. they have no idea how the car was driven (as much as you know) and it's just tear and well. if the tires have a lot of excessive inside wear, then i say alignment is not ride.

tires wear out more on the inside that's normal, happens to most brand for handling purposes. but it shouldn't be way off. how bad are the wears on your tires? if the inside is gone and the outside still shows good 7/32, then it doesn't sound right

a lot of times what happens is not the camber but the toe settings

There are OEM camber brackets that are designed for non dropped LS's that provide appx 20% more positive camber, but usually toe will kill tires before camber will

The tire wear was 3/32 across the tire but you could see the inside of the tire wearing more.

1. Do you have to align all four tires or just the front?

2.Northside Lexus quoted me $130 for alignment? Is that a fair price or is it the dealer standard overpriced job?

if it's 3/32 across, then i don't think you have much of an alignment issue. the inside should wear out a bit faster

I would take the tires at 50% off. Michelin is not going to do a thing for you

I really don't drive that fast. I do take some 90 degree turns geting on the beltway driving 75-80 but I can't think this would wear out all of the tires at 12,000 miles.

Jarm,

Michelin advertises a 50k tread wear out warranty for the Pilot MXM4 tires. This is usually prorated when a warranty claim is made.

http://www.michelinman.com/mediabin/...warranties.pdf

It's worth a call to them. If you call report back.

I purchased my tires 1/10/2010. Discount Tire said that there was no warranty on this tire. It shows on this warranty page that if purchased before March 1, 2011 there is no warranty. After March 1,2011 there is a warranty. I am just out of luck on my warranty.
