Default Clarification on Auto Cruise operation..

Now that I actually have the owner's manual I found that when you come to a halt in auto cruise in those LS460's that have radar there are two ways to start up again. You can lift the cruise control lever to resume or press the accelerator like you do in "Hold" mode at a stoplight.

One of my sales associates was impressed with the silent latch on the glovebox. You don't hear or feel a click it just sticks without effort. I repeated it many times but couldn't get it to squeak....

To those that already own LS460's and 600hL's on this forum I would like to say that you already possess what for most people would be a dream car. You are comfortably ensconced in your Lexus cocoon. You know where everything is and you are the master of all that you survey. The new model will take some effort to become familiar with due to the pace of the changes.

There are distinctly two types of drive experiences between the conventional suspension and the electronically controlled version. The conventional type is a totally new design with forged aluminum arms that have a precise feel when combined with the stiffer chassis. My advice is to drive the conventional suspension first. If you do not currently drive an LS it might be a good idea to drive a 2012 if your dealership has a few left. If you prefer a plush ride then take advantage of the sell down promotions on the 12's. The 13's have moved up class like the Jeffersons. The body does not yawn or roll anymore yet the ride is not compromised...The 12's were priced in the 70's but the 13's are priced in the 80's. Relative to other makes and comparing V8 drive trains the Lexus is still a bargain but that is not as important in this stratosphere. Quality always trumps price....
