[QUOTE=whitetooth;8689700]LED lamps of 2007 LS are not compatible with LKA. Next gen as of 2010 has LKA. Good news: You can simply exchange the switch on the steering wheel to get the lane assist. It works as long as you do not switch on the LED headlight. Unfortunately there is no display support.
Right, what about the module on the steering column that monitor's the driver?

Well, here we are talking 2007-08 LS 460, which don't have LED headlights (which does not have any infrared red light part in the light...and the cameras use that part of the light to see where the car is positioned on the road and also detect obstacles for the APCS) ....so this model...if correct optioned..with Advanced Pre Collision System ...with the cameras in the front window....can get LKA buttons from a newer car installed...I should think......and...also get them working at night too :-) ...Please do correct me if I'm wrong :-)
Regarding the pre-2010 LS 600's:
In Norway we have to use DRL at daylight hours...and the LKA works also with the LED main headlights on at daytime.....we have here where I live only a few 10's miles of lighted highways ...and the LKA also works then at night.... I have not tried to use it at night outside these roads...so can't garantee that the LKA will work at a dark road at night....I feel sometimes that it does though.......and sometimes not....but:
According to this declaration the 2008 LS 600 hL model use a part of the High Beams Halogen headlights lightrays to give the near-infrared light and the visible light needed for use of the LKA (and the APCS) at night...but with this filter up, the visible light is blocked and the High Beam Halogens are giving out only near infrared light for the APCS even when the High beam is not turned on .... (as I understand it)......:
You also need have to have the Type 2 Pre-Collision System: The Radar Type with Object Recognition Camera and Driver Monitor Camera to use the LKA buttons from a +2010 LS on a 2007-2009 LS...:
Differences between Type 1 and Type 2 PCS:
Type 1:
Type 2:
These picture I have taken from this presentation on the 2008 LS 600 hL ...and if You check it out and push the different tabs and marked links inside ( cover the lines and Push in more places that You first will think is available :-) ..You will find out a lot I did'nt know of about how the car ( engine, gearbox and a lot more) works in a very informative way .... (there is also sound ...so turn up volume on You PC ) :

Thanks. This thread was essential in my research for my new ride. 2008 lwb with air ride, rear seats had memory, self parking was not a must but it's nice bonus.
The air ride and lwb was a deal breaker of it didn't have it.

It will raise the car up. When you push the height button a "height" light will come on in the instrument panel. I use mines for speed bumps, pot holes, bad roads, wet roads, etc. The height button is only on LS model with the air suspension.

Driver
which settings does it have? low and high ?
#38
The settings is normal or high. If I see that the road is rough, a dip, or speedbumps ahead I'll push the button. It takes several sec. to rise. During inclement weather I'll push it before driving.

i used to use my height button for these things but it took too long to take effect and it makes the ride worse (per manual). now, I just switch it into sport mode and it takes speedbumps and dips where I couldve bottomed out MUCH better. it's almost instantaneous.

I'll try that. Its not instant but it takes about 20 sec for my car to fully rise.

Thanks!!! 😁👍🏽
Great thread. Thank you for all of the info! I've always
wondered what to tell people when they ask
"what package does your LS have" I just tell them
"Everything you can get on the SWB" minus the front collision
radar lol! Thank you again!

Glad I found this. Super helpful. Looking at a used 2007 LS 460. Didnt know what trim level & now I do. Here is an actual free VIN look up too, that tells you quite a bit of info for free. https://vincheck.info/ Thanks for taking the time to do this!
