Default Power folding mirror concerns...

Hello all...so here are my issues with my drivers side mirror. There's some slight movement of the entire housing forward-back. Maybe a quarter inch...not much to notice but I see it in the image in the mirror. Not sure if anyone else has this problem. It'll shift/move at higher speeds or if I move it with my hand. Also when it folds in the driver window stops it and not by itself. Like it touches the window to stop. The passenger side stops well before it hits the window. I noticed this when I switched the mirrors to close with the window open. It kept on closing in until the corner of the mirror was in the car. I'll try to post picks tomorrow. Anyone know what might cause this? Is there something inside the mirror that tells the motor to stop turning the mirrors in?

Sounds like something isn't right. I checked mine and there is very little play and it stops short of any contact with the window or frame.

mine have slight play (less than 1/4") in the open position, but no play in the closed position. also, mine don't fold nearly that far, not quite parallel to the door glass. seems like yours are malfunctioning, especially if they only stop because of the glass.

Yes. It's all covered in your Owners Manual.

Your motor is bad and will need replacememt ..same happened to me..replaced under warranty no problem. Dealer says it has to do with some type of stop sensor or something to stop short of touching window.

Hey, I'm having the same issue with my car. Do you know how much it would've cost you? If done by warranty, I believe you should've got an invoice with it zeroed out because of the warranty.
