I just found this post by Rominl in which he reviews the iVic, I do not know if this will work on my 2013 but it might apply here. Because the iVic maps use the iPhone they may be better.
Complained to the dealer that I purchased it from and hinted around that if they couldn't get it updated then I was bringing the car back. The car is new to me 4 days old so they updated it.
Because the update must be done and loaded onto the hard drive (your Lexus LS460 HAS a hard drive, regardless of whether your LS came with the Mark Levinson audio option).
This is FALSE. My LS 460 is equipped with DVD-based navigation and has NO hard disk drive (and yes, it has ML audio as the car has every single extra option installed). So I can just load a new DVD and it's done.
Mines still using the OG maps from 08 lol, On my way to work I noticed I wasnt driving on a road according to my nav. I will have it updated sooner or later tho, those little details bug me.

Where are you located? I believe all US LS models are HDD based. Did you get the car new from an authorised US dealer? Is it an import from some other country?

If you will share the first 10 characters of your VIN with us it will help us understand how your car is configured.

I'm located in Europe. The car was built in Japan for EU market.
It's my understanding that all car manufacturers, world wide, use the 10th character to encode the model year. Yours doesn't seem to conform to that. Perhaps my information is incorrect.

ManXP since you didn't list your location in you profile and most owners here are in North America, we are usually referencing those models. If you read posts #43 and #44 you will see reference to European model differences in the nav system.
