Default Temporary plastic coverings/clear bras?

You've probably seen brand new cars going down the highway on 18 wheelers. Often, they have a plastic covering stuck to the front hood and roof of the car. Is there a way to purchase something like that and apply it as temporary protection?

Say you're going to go on a long road trip to a national park and drive through mountain ranges. I love to take lengthy road trips, and the last time I did, I ended up on a section of freeway under renovation where gravel and rocks were being kicked up everywhere. I was thinking an applied plastic like new cars have would help reduce chips and dents from gravel.

And before you ask, no I DO NOT enjoy the look of plastic covering a couch to protect it! But for a temporary trip of maybe one or two weeks where you know you're going to add 4,000 miles of bugs and rocks, would it be feasible and worth it?

You could probably find a local shop that applies the clear bras. You won't notice it and you can use for a long time. Or if you don't care about the look, try painters tape. Won't look very luxurious though. Haha.

Yes, 3M makes some decent clear bras. I would assume eventually others will chime in with more brands and comments. And yes it IS worth it. You should GOOGLE clear bra or 3M and it should give you some ideas. I remember seeing a thread in here about it somewhere. Hope this helps.

Perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for! It would look like hell no doubt, but for a week long road trip I think it is perfect.
