How do you remove the Back of the Front Seat??
Hey all,
Well I'm on one of my annual Tour De Georgia trips visiting all the in-laws this weekend. And in the middle of my 250 mile drive this afternoon, while adjusting it, my lumbar support pops and starts clicking. It will now only move up and down, but not in and out. Of course it's stuck in an uncomfortable spot and I really don't want to drive another 400 miles over the next 2 days with it poking me in the back.
Does anyone know how to remove the back of the front drivers side seat so that I can gain access to the lumbar support????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Will

I have never had to take the seats apart, but there are a lot of pages in the service manual to do so. Taking the back off seems pretty straight forward. T Hooks and a couple of screws. I dont know if this gives you access to the lumbar system or not, from here there is page after page after page of taking lots of parts off to get to the interior of the seat. Hope this helps

There are two motors (up/down, in/out) in the drivers seat lumbar support. The motor drives a gearbox with three little plastic gears driven by a large plastic gear. The little gears have disintegrated. You can get metal replacement gears at no charge from the OEM lumbar support manufacturer in Canada (Schukra):
