Default How much should I pay for this LS460?

Hi All,

I'm currently driving 06 GS300 RWD and I'm thinking about getting a used 2008 LS460. I found one 2008 LS460 SWB black with tan interior in very good conditions for $34,500 from my Lexus dealer. The car has cleared Carfax and good service history from the same dealer; however, it is currently having around 75,000 miles so it has no warranty. Everything is working fine but I'm worrying about the electrical accessories like Navigation, etc.

How much should I pay for this LS? My dealer was asking around $36,000 few months ago and they just lowered it to $34,500.

Thanks,

Find one with the CPO to play it safe. They are out there! I would also HIGHLY RECOMMEND the LWB....

JST Alex, I am in the market myself. What makes the LWB so desirable? Like your car by the way.

the air suspension alone would be worth getting the L, on an air equipped model that is..some L's don't have air. Some other bennies too like laminated windows and of course the added rear leg room and such..

75K miles is pretty high for an 08. I would continue shopping. Its usually not to hard to find low mileage LS460s

You would spend more on maintenance than what you would save in a high mileage car.

As the car ages, maintenance becomes more expensive. Though Lexus is a pretty solid car, it asks for more money when it approaches the 100K miles mark.

So shell out few hundreds and get a lower mileage one.

Get a CPO or a low mileage and buy Lexus extended warranty. The peace of mind is worth the little extra $. The LS has lots of gadgets that can potentially go bad, they're usually expensive to repair. Good luck on your search.

I just paid $35k for 2008 swb with 34k miles, ML and Comfort Plus package (rear heated seats, etc) in Dallas.
Based on 3 months of hard shopping, 75k miles should be more around $31k.

The 2011 LS460 AWD comes standard with air suspension and laminated window glass for front driver and passenger as well at the front windscreen.

I just bought my 2008 SWB for $39K. 35K miles with camera, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering, auto trunk, rear shade, etc. One year left on original warranty.

$35 K for a straight car sounds like a real deal.

Mike,
Air suspension is no longer standard on any of the LS's at this time. I went thru this 2 months ago when I though about getting 2011 AWD. As of 2011 air suspension is a special order item.

dmapb,
I ordered my LS460 AWD SWD in November '10 and received delivery 3 weeks ago. It does include air suspension as part of the "technology" package (Canada). This package includes a lot of stuff including air suspension so it isn't standard but the upgrade to the tech package is a no brainer for anyone buying a car as expensive as this one. BTW, the upgrade for the RWD LS460 SWB doesn't offer air suspension, just the AWD.
