Default Unlimited DVD Video playing capability for 2010 LS460
I just purchased a 2010 Lexus LS460 two months ago (Mark Levinson system, Audio/Video DVD) and am hoping that someone knows how to set up the DVD video to play anytime, not just when the car is parked. Is there a switch? A DVD disc that can change the settings? Any assistance would be appreciated.

DISCLAIMER: This doesn't mean I'm an unsafe driver. I don't watch movies while I drive, but I had this capability in my previous vehicle and it's great for passengers during roadtrips, etc.

Yep, PS nav override is the way to go. Will allow you to watch DVD while driving as well as using all navigation and phone functions while driving.

Thanks for the information everyone. I asked my service rep at the Lexus dealership but he said he couldn't provide me the information and told me to check this forum for answers...he was right. I'm ordering today.

Is this something easy to install yourself? There isn't a dealer near me so I would have to do it myself.

Lexus dealer won't install it since it is aftermarket. Any car stereo shop should be able to install it. I emailed Prestigious and asked them if they knew any installers in my area, they recommended a stereo shop a couple miles from me and they installed it for $75.

hello I just bought a 2010 lexus lx 460 an I have the full package but all it has is navigation how do I get it to play dvd I tried to play a dvd but it says check disc does anyone no how convert it so I can play my dvd in there

Do you have the ML audio system? I think only the ML will play DVDs.

Correct dvd playback is only for Mark Levinson head units.

yes, from 07-12, you need ML to play DVD. 13+ they all play DVD
