Default Tanabe NF210 Lowering Spring Install

I ordered some NF210's for my LS460 from a store on Ebay. My friend was having a slow week at the shop and asked if I wanted to start working on one of my vehicles. I only had the springs in for the Lexus so I pulled it out of storage and we installed the springs today. I took a couple of pictures of the install. The back was more difficult because you do have to get at the rear deck to get to the nuts that hold the top of the rear struts in. I have the Lexus factory service manuals and they tell you to remove a lot more things than necessary to complete the job. It did take several hours. My sway bar end-links took a little longer to remove because of the WI winters, but it all worked out.

Here is a picture with stock suspension from this morning.

Removing the lower rear seats

We didn't have to completely remove the seat-backs, just enough to get them out of the way to access the rear deck panel

Ready to lift up the rear deck panel and get at the 3 nuts each side which hold up the rear struts

Poor picture of lifting up the rear deck to get at the 3 nuts that hold up the strut. Actually it's 6 nuts a side, 3 hold on the cover plate, 3 hold on the strut

Starting to take the wheels off

The only thing we removed was a nut for the end-link(top) and bottom bolt of the strut. Used a pry-bar to get more room and out it came!

Compressing the spring

Tanabe spring assembly

Tanabe spring installed

Rear Height Lowered .8"

Another

Front factory setup

Unbolted a few more things on the front but went much more quickly than the rear

Spring installed

1.5" drop in front .8" rear

Ride quality is still great even with our WI roads..

Looks great.. With the new springs, is it a little more stiffness? Meaning does your LS corners a little bit better or still has the drift characteristic?.Just wondering you mentioned sway bar, what type are they?

I have the tanabe springs installed on my LS and I would say that the drop is at a great height and the ride is still a nice comfortable ride with better response than factory. After putting on 22 inch wheels, the springs lower the car at the perfect height IMO.

I didn't get to drive it much because it went back in the garage, but ride was nice. I wanted to get these on because my 22's arrive on Monday. I hope spring weather comes soon so I can drive it!

I'm getting my tires mounted on the 22's today, if I have time this weekend I might put the wheels on the car and take a few pictures.

What kind of 22's I went with the vossen and love the look. A little stiffer ride but well worth the cornering and appearance.
