Rear Ended on I-75 South
Coming back from Cleveland, OH on I-75 South just south of Lexington, KY and got rear ended in stop and go traffic. Guy hit us pretty hard - estimate is $8,500 and they expect it will go up once they get going on the repair.
Dropping it off at the body shop tomorrow.
Almost a year to the day that my car was rear ended after having it for less than 3 weeks. Starting to feel like it is jinxed.
Took a few pictures with my i-Phone

It's a leased company car or I would do a bunch of upgrades.

Thanks flipside. I see that the tail lights have a little yellow in them. The plate frame looks very subtly different. Thanks for the knowledge

I don't know which is worse - the neck pain or having to drive the Chevy Impala that his insurance company set me up with. I'm not a car snob but having to drive this car for a month or more will be painful.

I would also ask for diminished value. If it has frame damage, I would ask them to purchase the vehicle. I hope your neck and back pain goes away. In 2001 I was rear ended and had two bulged disks in my neck and two in my back with whiplash. They didn't total my car, but I sold it right after it was repaired. It took two months and my car was never the same again...

Sorry to see that stan and I'm glad that no body was seriously hurt as a result of this.
How a small space in a traffic jam allowed a guy to hit your car this hard is beyond my comprehension.

Thanks. I can't quite figure it out either. The only thing that I could think of is that he accidently hit the gas instead of the brake. I didn't see it coming and he was pretty shaken up (nervous) when I exchanged information with him. He was still really nervous when the cop arrived about 1.5 hours later. I'd like to say that he was an "older" gentleman but unfortunately he was only a year older than me.
