Default Blinking driver side window switch?

The driver side window switch was blinking when i started the car tonight -- I've never noticed that before, is it normal?

Sounds like the batt was disconected if so this is normal and an easy fix, the power windows need to be initialized. Here is what you need to do.......

1. Lower the driver side front window 1/2 way (Do not use auto up/dwn)
2. Raise driver side front window and hold switch for 3 sec
3. Repeat the same process with other 3 window switches (On each door not the master control) & moonroof
4. All the windows & moonroof will be working normaly

BTW if the batt is discconected for more than 5 mins you will have to do this everytime, when I first got my LS had the same issue and was pissed thiniing it was a electrical problem.

Thanks!

swapped my dead stock battery with a new yellowtop late lastnight and was shocked to find i couldnt roll down my rear windows to put my 49ers flag back up! A quick google search found this clublexus thread that answered my concern in short. Other than windows and clock, anything else need reboot attention?

Interesting; my previous battery died completely a couple of times before I got a new one. Didn't have to do this recalibration.

Default Blinking window switches

None of these worked for me on 2008 LS460

THIS worked!

https://youtu.be/-Qyuovek-zg

After battery replacement, windows only worked on their separate switches, automatic One Touch down did not work, drivers control panel could not control other windows.

Roll each of the blinking windows down and hold for 4 seconds. Then roll up and hold for 4 seconds. This will reset each window.

Tried the above yesterday but not working,

But the reply from denS460 worked

Point is you have to hold down the buttons until the glass goes all the way down and keep on holding the button in down position and you will notice the blinking light will become solid
Same way keep on holding the button in upward direction, glass will roll up keep on holding the button up and you will notice the light on the button have become solid and you are done

Repeat the same process for every door

Preferred time to do this operation is during night time so that the blinking lights are super visible

Made a short video also

Mine used to blink, and I never knew about the re initializing it after disconnecting the battery. And now none of the lights are even on anymore. All windows except passenger front work fine. and passenger front did until my battery died one day.

This is just crazy. It started happening in my 07 ES350 as well recently. I wonder why wouldn't the manufacturer do "initialization" automatically instead of giving the stress to the owner?

The press and hold of the switch after fully closing essentially disables the pinch protection and raises the burnout threshold for the motor. From the OEM's viewpoint, there's no safe way to do that automatically, hence the requirement of the manual process.
