LS600hL, just completed a coast to coast road trip.
I just completed a west coast (LA) to east coast (Maine) 5600 mile road trip in my LS600hL.
Not a lick of problems, despite the heat shown here: (in Phoenix).
The side and rear curtains helped quite a bit to control the interior heat while out of the car. I had front curtains for the windshield too, but decided to remove them while driving .
Average MPG was > 28. Once, while driving through the flat desert, it showed 33.x for a few hours.
Several days were 5-6 hours of driving, with virtually no fatigue...
It was so great, I'm going to do another one next year, this time south to north.
What a great country this is for traveling.

Well, the 1st hotel I stayed at in Palm Springs wouldn't let me take any pictures.
I had made uncancellable advance reservations at a resort over the internet and it turned out to be a nudist resort.
Actually, it was a great resort, and, having plenty of sun tan lotion, I had a good time there, once I got out of the door to my room.......
I did learn that you have to be VERY careful when you're eating hot soup at lunch.

I just did an 1200 mile trip in my 460 and it was amazing . The car covers distances at such a comfortable yet high speed. I had the car cruising at about 95 mph most of the time. You arrive to your destination feeling fresh and comfortable. I still think the silent cabin, nice ride quality, and big V8 are very conducive to a fast and comfortable trip.

Hey Helmar,
Great post. What setting did you leave your air suspension on for the trip?
I think I know which resorts you're talking about...warm sands dr?
I'm thinking about getting a 600hL and your posts always are so positive...i'm leaning toward it kindof!
Thanks

The only issues on the trip were the tires.
They varied from around 31 in the mornings to high 30's in the late afternoon.
One tire particularly reported low pressure (<25) twice, and I had to fill it with the portable air compressor that I'd brought with me.
The only accident I had was in Chicago where I scraped a rim exiting one of the narrow underground parking garages.
Comfort setting the whole trip. Why not? Smooth and super quiet! Even at 80, the car was loafing along at less than 1500RPM. I'm sure that this was why I had no fatigue, even after long drives. The satellite radio was great on the whole trip.
Actually, mostly upper 20's to 40's. Once I got up the courage to go out my front door the 1st time, I adjusted pretty quickly and had a great time. I limited swimming to before and after the sun.
The only times I felt strange were the few times I was around clothed people, like the front desk and (sometimes) the waitress at meals.
I did ask at the front desk if anyone ever forgot themselves and walked out the front door of the resort without getting dressed. They told me that that's why they have BOTH entry and exit buzzers on that door!
Most of my pictures were personal, but here's one outside a great pinball/arcade game museum in Las Vegas. All of the machines were playable! They even had a fortune telling machine like the one in "Big".
