Default Help in telling LS460 models apart (quick ways)

Help in telling LS460 models apart (quick ways)

I am looking for a 2007-08 ls460 and want to be able to pop my head in and know that it has this or that package.

Whatr packages are out there and which are the moist desirable?? and "Must have", reason I ask is that my friend might get me into an auction as that goes super fast. It would be great if i could know on a fly what to look for.

Thank you very much

I put this together a while back, may help you:

Identifying options by looking at dash/console controls:

LWB-Specific option packages:

LP $12675 If 110VAC switch to left of steering column and to the right of the park assist/heated steering wheel buttons, the car has exec seating
LR $1625 If no 110VAC switch, but car has 4-zone switch on A/C control panel (instead of 'dual'), car has rear seat upgrade package
AS $2120 Adaptive Variable Suspension if sport/normal and height high suspension switches on center console behind shifter.
LL $2780 If rear seat heat switch on center console, car has LL luxury package
MH $2530 If ML logo on stereo above mode buttons, car has mark levinson

SWB-Specific options:

CP $1290 Comfort Package. Will have heated steering wheel switch to left of steering column, but will not have rear seat heat switch on center console.
RU $3620 Comfort Plus Package. Will have both of the above switches.

PP $395 One-touch open/close power trunk and doors... no way to tell AFAIK

There are 4 Nav packages, with/without Mark Levinson and with/without advanced
parking guidance. No way that I know of to determine if the car has advanced
parking guidance just by looking at dash.
Mark Levinson is indicated by logo on stereo above mode buttons.
NP $6345 Mark Lev and Advanced Parking
NL $5645 Mark Lev only
NA $3815 Advanced parking only
NV $3115 Just Nav

Options Available on both SWB and LWB:

MZ $900 Lexus Link, if there are lexus link controls in overhead panel
PA $500 Intuitive Park Assist, look for park assist switch left of column
PI $700 (adv parking guidance) No way to tell....
PS $2850 pre-collision and radar cruise, if equipped, steering wheel button
in front of cruise control stalk will have a car symbol,
that button is blank without this option

Good list Jim. I did notice one discrepancy.

SWB-Specific options:

CP $1290 Comfort Package. Will have heated steering wheel switch to left of steering column, but will not have rear seat heat switch on center console.
RU $3620 Comfort Plus Package. Will have both of the above switches.

I have the Comfort Package and I have heated rear seats with a control button on the center console. I believe the plus package has heated and cooled rear seats, plus it had rear side air bags. I don't know if the cooling function has a button on the console, but I assume there is a air bag logo above the rear windows.

OK, thanks. I have the LWB model so I'm not as familiar with the SWB option packages. I put that list together a while back when I was looking for cars online. It seems like every 460 is described as 'loaded' so I was looking for a way to verify option packages from shots of the interior.

Thanks for putting together and posting the list.

In the 2010 models, Advanced Parking Guidance now has a Pre-Support Switch which is used to position the car in the best position for parking before putting it in reverse. The switch is below the brake hold switch on the left of the steering wheel. The switch is depressed as you are slowly approaching the parking space and a chime sounds when you should stop and put the car in reverse. This makes the system easier to use because a big part of using it successfully is positioning the car correctly.

You can see the switch in this picture of a LS 600.

Also, in the LWB models, if the car has the Advanced Pre-Collision option with Lane Keep Assist, there is a horizontal Driver Attention Monitor on the top of the steering column and a LKA button below the radar cruise button on the right of the steering wheel.

This is very helpful info, thanks, as I am in the market for a 07 or 08 CPO LS 460, with Mark Levinson a must have option. To identify ML, were you referring to these?

Are there any more ways to id ML? Like speaker placements in the front and rear doors. I understand ML has 19 speakers vs. 10 for the stock system. Many dealers fail to identify ML and I have to jump thru hoops to find out. They often do not post ML pictures like above. Sometime they id a LS with ML but then with conflicting info that it has 10 speakers.

the easiest way is just to look at the rear doors.

They will have mids and tweeters in the doors and the non-ML system will only have the mid. Simple.

There is also a mid bass in the bottom, but its not visible.

You're swapping out your ML sub in the rear deck?

YEP, I did it to my ls430 and it was night and day- Has to happen again, or i wont be able to sleep. It just absolutely completes and fills out the bottom end the way it should, I will be using a kenwood 10" and a jl audio 250/1 amp and the mtx Q signal processor.

I'd considered this as well until I picked up the one I own now. The one I tested prior had a blow sub and it wasnt apealing to me but I didnt know it had a blown sub. I had to check the one I have now to make sure it didnt have an aftermarket sub but indeed, it was stock. I was very surprised as to how good it sounds and I have to say that I'll be keeping it stock. My buddies HK system in his Benz doesnt compare. He's talking about ripping his out since he had a listen to mines.
