Default MPG decrease on 2010 models?

I recently bought a 2010 LS 460; this is my sixth LS. On all previous models I have gotten nearly 30 mpg with freeway driving at 72 mph. I am only getting about 24 with the 2010, which is a precipitous drop. My in-town mileage, which used to be about 16, is now 12. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Im assuming this is your 6th LS, but your 1st 460 model?

Note that gas mileage improves after engine break in period. Also, the 400 nor the 430 didnt have 380 horsepower.

I'm wondering also about the measurements used for MPG? The EPA changed the ratings system and lowered mpgs across the board in 2008. The LS 460 in 2010 is rated at 16/24; the LS 430 in 2006 was rated at 16/23.

Actually, this is my second LS; the first was a 2008 which I believe had the exact same engine as this one, so it's puzzling. This one has 15-inch tires, whereas the other had 14-inch tires (I think). I'm wondering if that could have a difference.

something is not right about the tires. they can't even fit over the brakes. ls460 comes with 18s standard, some come with 19s

how many miles you got on your new 2010? those mileage numbers are too low. maybe engine still needs to be broken in. when i had my ls460l, avg was like 24. on highway i was getting 27 or so

That's my mistake, then. Obviously I don't have the right size. But they are 1 inch bigger than the ones on the 2008, according to the salesman.
